- Mrs. Thomas Bartlein, 84, died at her home in Wabeno Wednesday morning and will be brought to Shawano Saturday morning for burial in the Sacred Heart cemetery. She was the mother of Mrs. Charles Boyle and Frank Bartlein of Shawano.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Saturday morning at Wabeno and the body will be brought here about 11 o'clock.
Mrs Bartlein was born in Germany and came to Appleton with her parents at the age of 16. She was married to Thomas Bartlein in Shawano County and they settled in Mattoon. Later they operated a Hotel at Pella, a hardware store at Aniwa, and lived in Clintonville, finally moving to Mattoon, where they have resided for some time.
Survivors include Mr. Bartlein who is 83 years old and seven living children. A boy, Thomas, died during the World War. Others are Mrs. Boyle, Frank Bartlein, Mrs Mary Kruger of Oshkosh, Mrs. Peter Bateson of Los Angeles, Mrs Antone Huettel of Wabeno, Mrs Robert Forest of Tipler, Wm. Bartline of Wabeno.
