- Funeral was Held in Shawano Saturday P. M. in Charge of Odd Fellows The sad news was recieved here on Wednesday morning of last week of the death of Collin Mayville, who had been in one of the hospitals at Oshkosh for some weeks. The deceased had been failing since he entered the hospital. Undertaker Karth went to that city after the remains, which were brought here for burial. Collin Arthur Mayville was born in Sumico, Wis. Oct. 25th, 1869. His mother died when he was two years of age. The family then moved to Unity where they lived until he was seventeen years of age. During his early years, he lived at Fond du Lac, De Pere, and Shiocton. In 1891 he was married to Claire [Clorie] Greeley, of Shiocton, to whom were born three children, Howard Ray, of Madison; Velma Belle, who died four years ago; and Reynolds Sylvester, also of Madison. In 1903 the family moved to Shawano where they made their home since. Mr.Mayville has been employed by the Shawano Lumber Co. for twenty-two years. He was a very faithful employee, ever working for the interests of the company, doing his work well. He was a pleasant man and had a great many friends. He was a member of the Shawano Odd Fellows Lodge and took very much interest in that order, and had been elected to most of the offices of the order. Besides the immediate family he leaves to mourn his passing, one sister, Mrs.Beauliau of Long Lake, Wis.; two half sisters, Mrs.Alfred Nachtwey of this city, and Mrs. Dean Colby of Colby; and three half brothers, George, of Medford, Saskachewan, Can; Ed. of this city; and Dewey, of Milwaukee. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon and was in charge of the Odd Fellows of this city. A large number were present to pay their respect to the departed. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Among those from out of the city who attended the funeral were: Dewey Mayville, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Arnett and family of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Greeley, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buffum, Mr. and Mrs. M. Mack, Mr. and Mrs. T. Peep, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Peep, Mrs. Sam Laird, Shiocton; Geo. Goehring of Neenah; Mrs. Vern Shepard of Black Creek; Mrs. Harold Shiphard of Appleton; Mrs. Daisy Desmond, Green Bay; Mrs. Jes. Turiff, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Mayville, and R. S. Mayville of Madison. The pall bearers were C. C. Fritz, Wm. Ainsworth, Chs. Fink, Herman Heller, Spence Starkweather, and Joe Popp.
