- Charlotte May Kaper was one of 2 children of Roland Troy Kaper and Lauretta Dohme of Lockland, Ohio. At age 14 Charlotte grabbed her younger brother Troy and took a joy ride in her father's car. She was an accomplished singer and piano player also. At age 16 she won a vocal recital contest in Cincinnati.In her early adulthood she obtained employment at the Crosley Radio and Television Co. in Cincinnati as a Supervisor. She was one of the 1st people in the area to own a television. It was only an 8 inch round screen television but every day she came home from work to find several of the neighborhood children waiting on her porch for a chance to watch the television.It was during this time period she met her future husband, John Louis Belanger, an ex-marine from Wisconsin. John and Charlotte married in 1954 and bore 3 children; John Victor in 1955, Charlotte Elaine in 1957 and Jill Loraine in 1959.Charlotte and John divorced in 1973 and she died of cancer in 1990. Her lineage can be traced back to the actress Joan Crawford as a 6th cousin, 2 times removed. Ms. Crawford's real name was Lucille Fay LeSeuer. Charlotte's 6th great grandmother and Ms. Crawford's 8th great grandmother was Anna Margretha (1656 - 1709) of Schifferstadt, Pfalz, Germany.
