Lyle I. Brender, age 86, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, January 10, 2013, one day and two years after his loving wife, Vivian passed. Lyle was born in Cashmere, WA on July 16, 1926, on the old Brender homestead up Brender Canyon, to Jesse and Edna Brender. Lyle met Vivian while attending Cashmere High School. He joined the Navy in 1944, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Lyle came back from the Navy and went to work for GTE as a phone installer in 1947. He retired after 35 years in 1982. Lyle married the love of his life, Vivian V. Diederich on August 25, 1951, in Wenatchee, where they resided. They raised one son, Brad, who was born in 1956. In 1957, Lyle and Viv moved to East Wenatchee, where they raised Brad and called it home. Several years later, they became orchardists for over 50 years. In 1982, after retirement, Lyle went to work for Sonntag Machine & Mfg. for his son, hauling valves and filters all over the state. Lyle and Vivian loved to go dancing. He was quite a dancer. Vivian use to say how he charmed all the ladies with his dancing. Lyle loved the outdoors. He loved to go fishing with his friend, Gary and snowmobiling with family and friends. Lyle loved life. He had so many other things he wanted to do. Lyle loved helping people with different projects and creating gizzmos. He loved being with his grandsons, Triston and Tanner, playing with all sorts of toys, teaching them how to drive the tractors at age two, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and teaching them how to fix things. Lyle was quite a jokester. He loved to dress up in all sorts of costumes and tell jokes to make all his friends and family laugh. Lyle had a personality everyone enjoyed being around and a vibrant smile and laugh that would warm your heart. He will be missed very much.
Lyle Brender is survived by his son, Brad (Judy) and two grandsons, L. Triston (Katie) and Tanner D. Brender, all of East Wenatchee, WA; one sister, Dorine Richmond (Jack) of Woodburn, OR; and one brother, Van Brender of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; his parents; and one brother, Carl Brender.
Special appreciation goes to the staff of the Critical Care Unit at Central Washington Hospital. The professionalism they demonstrated was only surpassed by their genuine compassion and concern for our loving father and grandfather.
Services will be with the immediate family only. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
