    • Alfred "Al" Hockers, 90, De Pere, died suddenly Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005. Al was born June 23, 1914, in De Pere, the son of the late Leo and Rose (Baeten) Hockers. He married the former Agatha Cavil on Oct. 4, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, De Pere. Al was employed by Paper Converting, Green Bay, for many years until his retirement. As an avid outdoorsman, Al loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling and was a member of the Whirl Away Square Dance Club.

      Al is survived by his wife; children, Ken (Kathy) Hockers, Ann (Bill) Jaeger, Joan (John) Leick, Rose (Jim) Smits, Peggy Hockers and special friend, Lowell Whittle, Bonnie (Dave) Defnet, Jeff (Patti) Hockers and Tom (Becky) Hockers; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hockers, Grace Hockers and Betty (Dan) Schleis; one brother-in-law, Roland (Glady) Cavil.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clem and Milton; sisters, Stella Hockers and Lorraine Schelfhout; one grandson, Benjamin Smits.

      Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. 10th St., Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Timothy Shillcox, O.Praem. Entombment will follow at the Allouez Mausolem.
