	Joseph 'Joe' McQuade OAK HILL - Joseph Leo "Joe" McQuade, 86, formerly of Richwood, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 19, 1915, at Minden, he was the son of the late Henry Joseph and Dona Beatrice Allen Willis McQuade. Mr. McQuade was a retired coal company executive having operated the Maust Coal and Coke Company and the Riverton Coal Company. He was a former cook in both the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) and the National Guard. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Shirley Donnelly Bible Class of the church. He was a member and Past Patron of the Oak Hill Chapter No. 107 OES, a 50+ year member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 AF and AM, Sewell Chapter No. 24 RAM, Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 KT, and the Beni Kedem Temple AAONMS. He was a former member of the Oak Hill Rotary Club and the Board of Directors of Merchants and Miners National Bank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Joel Herndon and Wil-liam Robert McQuade; two brothers, James Patrick and Henry McQuade Jr.; two sisters, Dona Jean McQuade and Gertrude McQuade Browning; two half brothers, Robert and Russell Willis; and a half sister, Bernice Willis. Survivors include his wife, Marian Herndon McQuade of Oak Hill, the founder of National Grandparent's Day; seven daughters, Shirley Donnelly McQuade of Beckley, Dona Jo Lancaster of Chula Vista, Calif., Patricia Evelyn McQuade of Watsonville, Calif., Ruth Ann McQuade of Alexandria, Va., Mary Virginia McQuade of Monterey, Calif., Margaret Lucille McQuade Salimi of Princeton, and Kathleen Elizabeth McQuade Eye of Shady Spring; six sons, Paul Daniel McQuade of Greenwich, Conn., Charles Henry "Darby" McQuade of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Thomas Allen McQuade of Houston, Texas, Da-vid Ray McQuade of Los Angeles, Calif., George Richard McQuade of Sun City, Calif., and Michael Patrick McQuade of Santa Fe, N.M.; 40 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. David White, the Rev. David Sneed and Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will follow in the High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, and from 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
