- Mary Louise Knuth, 92, of De Pere died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at home. The daughter of the late Charles and Rose(Parkinson) Messinger was born June 14, 1922 in Glendon, Iowa. She was a 1940 graduate of Nicolet High School. People always enjoyed meeting and talking to Mary. She was a funny, lovable lady known for her cookies, quick wit and smiling Irish eyes. Her family will remember her tall tales, her love of gardening and music. Her cooking lunches and dinners as family was cramped around her small kitchen table. She and her late husband, Butch Knuth loved to go hickory nut picking and picking cans at Ashwaubomay Park. But mostly she will be remembered for her love of her family, and most of all, her love for her husband, Carlton "Butch" KnuthSurvivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Marilyn Knuth, three granddaughters, Heidi, Carrie, and Beth, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of Charles and Rose Messinger. Private family services were held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, De Pere. Inurnment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
