- He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a very active member of St. Mary Cathedral parish, including serving as a Eucharistic minister and altar server.
He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, golfing, working in his garden and during his school years was an outstanding athlete.
Mr. Olschanski is survived by his wife, Theresa, and nine children. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward Olschanski of Livonia and Francis Olschanski of Novi.
