- Doris Hottenstine, 84, Pulaski, former Shawano resident, died peacefully Friday evening, April 9, 2004, at a Green Bay hospital surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Frederick and Mathilda (Collard) Belongia, Sr. was born Sept. 5, 1919, in Rhinelander. On Jan. 16, 1937, she married Sylvan Hottenstine in Shawano.
The couple lived in Shawano all of their married life. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1988. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. Unit 337, Pulaski. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Doris was a faith-filled woman. She had her front row seat at Bible with Brendan classes on Wednesday evenings.
Survivors include her children, Russell (Nancy) Hottenstine, Cecil, Patricia Erickson, East Troy, Shirli Hottenstine, Green Bay, David Sr. (Mary) Hottenstine, Pulaski, and James (Cyndi) Hottenstine, Suamico; special friend, Linda Doxtator, Green Bay; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton (Irene) Belongia, Rockford, Ill., and Dale Sr. (Mary) Belongia, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was further preceded in death by one son, Richard; one grandson, Michael; one son-in-law, Don Erickson; several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Pulaski, after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M., presiding. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Shawano.
