- RACINE - Lorraine R. Gehrig, age 93, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine, September 26, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Nee: Novak) Kaplan. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School. On July 30, 1948 she was united in marriage to LeRoy T. Gehrig who preceded her in death, July 5, 1978. Lorraine was employed by J.C. Penney for twenty years. She enjoyed writing poetry, road trips with her family and tending to her flower garden. She will be dearly missed by her children, Lane (Wendy Renish) Gehrig of IN, Rick (Susan)Gehrig, Randy Gehrig, all of Racine; her grandchildren, Scott (Tanya) Gehrig, Rosemary Gehrig - Renish; her great-grandson, Oliver;great granddaughter, Morgan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Leona (Russell) Ellison. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 5:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Private interment will be held at Bohemiam National Cemetery.
