- Steven Krochta, 49, of 710 Third Ave., Ford City died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.
He was born June 17, 1955 in Pensacola, Fla. to Michael and Grace (Huelsbeck) Krochta.
. Krochta was a maintenance manager at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Butler.
A Marine Corps veteran, he served during the Vietnam War, with a total of four years of service.
He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Ford City.
His other memberships were the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles and Slovak Catholic Union Club, all of Ford City.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, weight-lifting and exercising.
He was a long-time member of his community.
Survivors include his wife, Debora Byrd Krochta, whom he married May 5, 1979; two sons, Adam Krochta and Michael Krochta, both of Ford City; one daughter, Richelle Krochta of Pittsburgh; his mother of Pensacola; two brothers, Timothy Krochta of Utica, Mich. and Pete Krochta of Pensacola; one sister, Regina Carl and husband Dale of Grapevine, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Sunday and a Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m. Monday. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City with the Rev. Edward Lewis officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
