- Victor E. Cavil, 93, a Green Bay resident, passed away peacefully early New Year's Day after a short stay at San Luis Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Victor was born June 30, 1911, in Green Bay, the son of the late Albert and Eva (McMillan) Cavil. He married Grace Lefebvre on Nov. 6, 1933, in Waukegan, Ill. Victor was employed at the former Pauly Cheese for 42 years, retiring in 1976. Following a short retirement, Victor was employed as a security guard at St. Vincent Hospital for 15 years. Victor loved hunting and fishing, and after his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was proud to be able to live and maintain his home until he was 92 and have companionship with his beloved dog, Alex. Survivors include his wife; two children, Eugene F. Cavil and Charlotte (Thomas) McKay, all of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Steve (Denise) Burkel, Sobieski; and Robin (Andy) Paplham, Green Bay; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn Burkel, Michael Burkel, Alec Paplham and Cole Paplham. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Nancy Allee, Tallahassee, Fla.; and a special niece, Beverly Lybek, Green Bay. Besides his parents, Victor was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Delbert, one sister, Mabel York and one nephew, Dale York Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St., on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Internment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Bay Settlement. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Victors name is being established.
