Cavil, Roland "Rollie" Roland "Rollie" Cavil, 88, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. He was born Dec. 25, 1919, in De Pere, son of the late Randall and Anna (Vande Hei) Cavil. He married Gladys Harteau on April 27, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. He farmed all his life, and worked years Manor Parkview Nursing Home. Rollie was active with 4-H, Men's Club of De Pere, Rough Riders Horse Club, and enjoyed meeting with retirees each month. He was also active with the Brown County Fair and Meals on Wheels. Rollie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community of De Pere, where he helped with booyah and church, dinners. Another favorite passion of Rollie's was gardening, where he enjoyed sharing his harvests with family, friends and the church booyah. He enjoyed playing cards and bragging about his grand-dogs. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gladys; children, Ellen (Al) Schuettpelz, Sue (Paul) Bougie, and Kathy (Gary) Ambrosius; He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Chad Schuettpelz and fiancee, Lisa Weise, Karie (Jim) Kellam, Kimberly Ambrosius and special friend, Cory Spice, and Kevin Ambrosius; great-granddaughters, Taylor and Alayna Kellam; two sisters, Agatha Hockers and Betty (Dan) Schlies; Glady's brother and sisters, Edith Schoen, June Sinkumaus, Arleen Duchateau, Donald (Use) Harteau; granddogs: Muffin, Soco, Hunter, and Phoenix; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Rollie was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kevin Lee in 1966; and his brothers and sisters, Sylvester Cavil, Kathleen Van Vonderen, Harriet Daul, David Cavil, Marion Hockers, La Verne Butnick, and Gerald Cavil. Family and friends may call Monday, May 19, 2008, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. A procession will follow to St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m., with Father David Duffeck officiating, along with Deacon Kevin DeCleene assisting. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www xotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
