- Four Generations of Children Mourn Death of Mrs Sarah Bricco Grenier. The recent death of Mrs. Sarah Bricco-Grenier, aged 92, a former resident of this city, occurring at her home near Bear Creek marked the passing of a women declared to be the mother of more descendants than any other women in the United States. She left a total of 403 offspring, extending into the fifth generation. Traveling by steamboat and team Mrs Grenier with her husband, Saul Bricco, to whom she was married November 21, 1853, in a little village on the shores of Lake Champlain, came west the following spring, settling in this city. They resided here until 1870 when they moved to Outagamie County and located on a farm near the Town of Maple Creek. Ten of Mrs Grenier's 11 children are still living in various parts of Wisconsin and the eldest, Mrs M. J. Monty, of Bear Creek, 72 years old, mother of 15 children numbers her own descendants past the 100 mark. A son, William Bricco, was the father of 16 children. Mrs. Grenier kept a sheep and each year spun its wool on a old fashioned spinning wheel, knitting the yarn into stockings which she sold to obtain money for small articles she desired. Her last fleece was spun last summer and final pair of stocking was knit last may. Mrs. Grenier was born at Grand Maltice, Canada, January 1, 1934. Mr Solomon Bricco was killed May 14, 1877. He was felling a tree when his dog ran under the falling trunk. Mr Bricco ran to drive it from danger and was struck down. He was 94 years of age. Several years later Mrs Bricco married Oliver Grenier of Northport, who died after a few years. Mrs Grenier's children included Mrs Mary Jane Monty of Bear Creek, Saul Bricco of New London, Mrs Philomena Roberts and Mrs Sarah Ann Balthazar of the Town of Deer Creek, Mrs Agnes Balthazar of Maple Creek (at whose home she died) William Bricco of Elderon, Mrs Jessie Balthazar of Whittenberg. Another daughter, Mrs Adeline Belongia of New London, died December 18, 1925. The youngest daughter is 60 years of age. The Grandchildren number 121.

Charles Tough and Jane Cavil - Marriage Record
|
| Notes |
- In 1851 on the census report we find Charles and his family living in a log house, situated just south of Robert Macfie's property and before the Miller residence. Charles is listed a a laborer . We may assume , that he worked on either or both of the Macfie properties. His sister Anne was living then in the stone house with her large family and her parents, Alexander having passed away by this time. Their son George does not appear on the census listing so we assume that he died at an early age, eventhough we have been unable to locate a internment record for him.
