| The Post Crescent |
- Earl Sauter, 49, former tavern keeper and grocer, died unexpectedly at his home about 11:45 Tuesday evening. Sauter was born Sept. 27 1900 in Neenah. He lived until 1945 in Menasha when he moved to Appleton. He operated Earl's tavern for four years and the Morrison tavern for a year. In 1949 he went to Wrightstown where he spent a year in the grocery business. For the last six weeks he had been a salesman for Mrs. Drenk's Foods.
Survivors are the widow and a son, Thomas, Appleton. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral home after 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 Thursday evening. Services will be at the funeral home at 10 o'clock Friday morning and burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
